WW2 imperial Japanese army type 98 gunto 藤原国路 Fujiwara Kunimichi

Hi I saw this and because it’s signed  Fujiwara Kunimichi It’s by a well known smith and  Is it worth pursuing I believe it’s a short sword ? I’m trying to get dimensions 

Hard to know condition with just pictures 

My concerns are is it in fact that signature ?

The hard ware seems good with #11 

 

My worries are it’s being sold in Japan and if there’s issues it may be difficult to return

If it’s in Japan, why doesn’t it have papers? Can it get papers while it’s there if you get it?? These are the questions to ask before a purchase of a sword that’s still in Japan.

Exactly what papers should I ask for ?

 

 

Its a short sword blade length is 56.8cm (22.36inches)

I guess that blows that And not papered

BTW it looks more like a Type 94 than 98 to me

Papers should be,  NTHK Kanteisho, or above and NBTHK Hozon, or above.
