lyoung Posted August 29, 2023 Report Posted August 29, 2023 I am finally waking up to this part of the forum, it has been a few years. I was inspired by being offered and buying what has been identified is a custom ordered Murata-to of the thin blade type (blade only weighs 14oz) with a Lt. Colonel tassel. This blade's scabbard has field wear from rubbing on the officer's uniform. Pierced brass tsuba. It is nicely balanced blade. The information on Murata blades is thin and often repeated across the Internet. Is there more than a paragraph dedicated to these swords? I have the Fuller and Gregory book. The nice and new book Swords of the Emperor by Plimpton has even less. Quote
francois2605 Posted August 29, 2023 Report Posted August 29, 2023 Hello Lawrence, have you checked this reference website http://ohmura-study.net/911.html ? 1 Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted August 30, 2023 Report Posted August 30, 2023 From your description this sounds more like a Zohei-To. If you do a search on the forum you will find some posts about them. If you have any pictures of the sword it can be confirmed whether it is a more uncommon Murata-To or Zohei-To. http://ohmura-study.net/206.html Quote
