Utopianarian Posted August 21, 2023 Report Posted August 21, 2023 So far 57 watchers on this Old family blade dressed in WW2 Gunto fittings. Only been listed for 1 day so far. Interesting how much attention so early on this blade. The seller is listed out of Reno Nevada and looks to mostly be a seller of WW2 items,German etc.. blade has some interesting features to it. Nice sugata and appears to either be a cut down blade or have that Muromachi era type of nakago. Hard to tell from the pics. Seller posted pics of nakago after request. States blade is 24.65 inches. Not much more info. Anyways thought I would post the link for you guys to look at. Maybe might be an early blade cut down then nakago finished after suriage or just might be a kodachi ubu mumei blade from Muromachi https://www.ebay.com...r=artemis&media=COPY Quote
Sansei Posted August 21, 2023 Report Posted August 21, 2023 Looks like the seller has another one for sale that has a serial number engraved: https://www.ebay.com...d:g:TwQAAOSw071k3qDc But the number could have been put there just make it appear authentic? Ebay is a little to "risky" for me. Just saw another post here about fraudster on Ebay. Quote
Stephen Posted August 21, 2023 Report Posted August 21, 2023 Let the NCO guys make the call. Both numbers look newly added to me. Quote
Scogg Posted August 21, 2023 Report Posted August 21, 2023 (edited) On that type 95, there appears to be a stamp, maybe Seki?, right behind the bohi. Never seen that before on the blade, but i'm no NCO guy I agree that it doesn't look right. To my novice eyes Edit: The older blade in type94 fittings, from the original post looks interesting. I'm an Ebay seller of comics and collectables, and Ebay still makes me nervous when it comes to antiques. Best of luck, -Sam Edited August 21, 2023 by GeorgeLuucas Quote
John C Posted August 21, 2023 Report Posted August 21, 2023 The serial number definitely was not stamped. John C. Quote
vajo Posted August 22, 2023 Report Posted August 22, 2023 The tsuka is badly paint but the cast is well made. With the right paint and some work in patination it could be blame a lot of people. Its a fake sword. Compare it with that one. 1 Quote
