In the market for a new sword.

I’m looking for offers on a moderate to good condition, authentic sword for my collection. Right now I have a budget of 1500-2000 dollars for a good piece. Message me if you have any offers, thank you.

I really think you are going to need to be more specific.  Katana, wakizashi, tanto?  Fully mounted or in shirasaya?  Koto, Shinto, Shinshinto?  Papered or unpapered?  Signed or mumei?  What are your collecting goals?  Any characteristics, schools, smiths you are interested in?  Something?  Anything?

I think one of the dealers here, St. Croix Blades has some in this price point. Grey periodically does as well; this suggestion helps ensure that you are getting an authentic nihonto.

 

Mark is correct that you would need some additional qualifiers for us to help.

 

As a newer collector, I understand it is a lot to take in because it really is a journey and not a sprint—learning, appreciating and being moved by this art. But if you just want to scratch the itch so to speak, I understand.

 

Do you just want something authentic or do you have areas of interest? Then we can give better feedback.

In case you are looking for a sword, why not use our " Wanted to Buy " section? You are more likely to get offers.

In your price range, it might not be easy to find a "TACHI or KATANA, KOTO with papers. Preferably signed..."

Unsigned Shinto or later wakizashi would be more doable for your price range I would surmise...guess you never know, may be a great deal to be had somewhere...
