Late Nanbokucho / Yamamura Yasunobu (Nobukuni-style work)

A beautiful, long hirazukuri wakizashi from the late-Nanbokucho to Oei periods by Yamamura Yasunobu, a smith from the Yamashiro Nobukuni lineage. It is believed that he studied under shodai Nobukuni (or the nidai Nobukuni, depending on which theory you believe regarding of the generation who studied under Soshu Sadamune). This one really shows a strong similarity to Nobukuni and Sadamune, with a vibrant midare hamon in the Soshu-den tradition. In excellent old polish with top class gold foil habaki. 4950 + shipping. YASUNOBU (安信), 1st gen., Ōei (応永, 1394-1428), Echigo – “Yamamura Yasunobu” (山村安信), “Yasunobu” (安信), “Echigo no Kuni Yasunobu” (越後国安信), Yamamura school, according to tradition the son of Masanobu (正信), it is said that he changed his name later to Masanobu and to Nobukuni (信国), a theory says that he had also studied directly under the 1st gen. Nobukuni, itame-nagare mixed with masame and ji-nie, gunome-midare in nie-deki with mura-nie and sunagashi, chūjō-saku
