The first 2 photos show a TANSU.

Concerning the filled-in NAKAGO-ANA on the TSUBA: This is usually not done, but it looks as if it could be repaired without damage.

While I am not an expert, of the several items that you listed, the one I would focus in on is the robe. It MAY be Imperial and could be Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese or other.

I recognize the style and design, but cannot give you much more information than that (and I am only looking at a photo). It would be best to contact a large auction house or museum for more information.

Sometimes called 'dragon robes'. No one could wear the design outside of the ruler. It probably goes without saying that IF it were to be authentic and imperial, you are talking big $$$$. Good luck.

Yes David, it’s an armor chest and called yoroi-bitsu. The “helmet” is an hira-jingasa, as Francois already mentioned.

Hi everyone! Reviving this old thread. Anyone have thoughts on the armor chest? The symbol on it?

This cloth and silk pouch were found in the bottom of the chest. Any idea? Yorimasa? Literally translates to Trust the Government? But probably not the real meaning.

Thank you!
