wakiboy Posted June 20, 2023 Author Report Posted June 20, 2023 Thank you Matt is this the artists name? what period would this be? approximate age? do you have any idea what school it is? So many questions I’m grateful for any help. Ian Quote
mywei Posted June 20, 2023 Report Posted June 20, 2023 Hi Ian Yes Miboku is the artist name, but it's a pseudonym used by some artists of the Hamano school Perhaps one of the fittings experts on NMB can give you a more in depth opinion on which artist/authenticity This thread might help 1 Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted June 20, 2023 Report Posted June 20, 2023 Not an expert, but my book gives five Hamano artists using both names of Otsuryuken and Miboku, and they stretch from 明和 Meiwa to Kansei 寛政 1764-1800, kind of mid-Edo Period. 2 Quote
wakiboy Posted June 21, 2023 Author Report Posted June 21, 2023 Thank you for the information, I’m surprised they can be that old as they are both in great condition and look modern. Thank you again… Ian Quote
Geraint Posted June 21, 2023 Report Posted June 21, 2023 Dear Ian. When you say, 'they', does that mean you have a daisho set? All the best. 1 Quote
