Two very 'wabi sabi' tea bowls

Two new chawan I picked up this week. The first is a classic kuro Raku bowl, the glaze of which has just started to settle down to that nice muted, aged appearance despite this being a modern piece. The second (pictured in front of the wooden box) is Bizen-yaki, made around 1988.

Simon,

congratulations! In my opinion, both are very beautiful CHAWAN!

My favourite would be the BIZEN one, though. Functional, temperate: outstanding.
