Seen this kozuka thats a dead match to my F/K on mysho (play on daisho).  Not a major dilemma but the kozuka I have now on the sho....is a priest like matches menuki priest.  Your thoughts?

Stephen, hello. Just my opinion which isn’t worth much but I reckon better to have a kozuka match the F/K than the menuki. Menuki are often “odd” to the rest of the koshirae.

Im sure you would anyway  but check the length and width. I forgot to once and it didn’t fit……too wide.

All the best

Colin

Stephen, if I were in your shoes, I would jump at the dragon kozuka.  You like dragons.  I like dragons.  Dragons are awesome.  And, that kozuka would look fantastic on your daisho (given that it fits).

Excellent! Nice to hear a success story. I recently left a bit on an item that amounted to at least four times what it was worth because I needed it for a match on a koshirae. Guess what……some lunatic bid even more. I bet the vendor thought it was Christmas come early. I’m still looking🙂Well done mate.

A very hearty congratulations to you, Stephen!!!!!!! That is awesome.

If you are willing to share, how many years of study and interest did it take to get this match/close match?

Ball park on this daisho or mysho, at least 8+ years, initially Ed had a primo F/K, a fan of copper fittings, it was the first pick up then soldier museum had a lone kashira (only one not exact match) and the other fuchi was found here in our orphan thread.

Many different tsuba came and went then Eric had a very expensive tsuba and on it went to last tsuba posted here few months ago.

The drama with the kid in Japan for ito, touch up by Woody, saya to match wak color by Mr T,

Re wrap both tsukas by David....many many stories left out. It usually  doesn't take one that long, for me its a growing process some things come some things go some things stay.

It's arrived and I'm happy, has one stain from (finger print?),

That would have bugged me back in the day but I'm good with it now.

I would like the patina match but for the time being it's good to go.

Check for sale section for the old one ... Added shot of kogatana.
