Have you considered buying one directly from Japan ? Searching 刀掛け in Buyee will return a lot of matches. I bought one 2 years ago for a low price.

Realized I didn't put a budget. Ballpark of $500-$1000 but open to higher quality.

Should I be concerned about this? It is in the body of the listing. Or is this just the actual seller's notes and not buyee terms? Will be my first purchase through buyee if I win of course.

Id opp for protective packaging just to be safe, it's worth the extra money.
