Influx of brown tassels

Scrolling eBay you can find many gunto with brown tassels in remarkably good condition. Since there’s been an influx in these brown tassels in the past year is it just a coincidence or are all these brown tasseled gunto popping up suspicious?

You will find things come to pop up in waves. I have noticed sometimes there is a drought of certain items and all of a sudden there are plenty of them available. When I look for general  tassels the same thing happens!

Many of these are re-listings from Japanese auction sites where tassels can be found more regularly.

I'm waiting on a wave of Navy Kyu Gunto tassels to pop-up.

I will have a few for sale in a week or two that I bought off of a Japanese auction. I will let you know when they arrive! The auction included 3 of them, I only need one so you can have your pick of the other 2!

If anyone wants an early-war dark cocoa tassel, slide me a message. And y'all are very much so correct; these tend to appear in large groups as they made their rounds through large markets/dealers.

Always wanted a general's tassel but they are way out of my league now.

(I had a chance to buy one in the early 80s for around £100 but passed on it. 🤦🏻‍♂️)

There was a post along time ago about a member in Japan that would find them at flea markets for pennies on the dollar. The General tassels were popular for use as decorative bows for gifts.
