Izumi Posted May 3, 2023 Report Posted May 3, 2023 Edo period Saya and fittings with wood tsunagi Tsuba: roughly 7 cm, mokko with kinzogan kiku and moon design, unsigned Menuki: Dragon Ha: Tsunagi Length: roughly 77 cm Katanakake not included. I am tasked with managing the sale of a private collection of swords and fittings, and other weaponry, etc. The owners are knowledgeable on the topic, but have asked me to be in charge of the sales. I am grateful for any information that would aid to the success of this project. Thank you. I have read the policies about listing Tsuba separate from fittings, however this item is only available as is. Note: This item is one of thirty or so similar items (various styles/conditions) that will become available. Open to offers and negotiations Quote
ROKUJURO Posted May 7, 2023 Report Posted May 7, 2023 Andrew, one of the rules is that you have to give a price with your sales offer. Quote
Brian Posted May 7, 2023 Report Posted May 7, 2023 Indeed. This isn't a fishing expedition. You need to post a rough price, even if negotiable. 1 Quote

Izumi Posted May 8, 2023 Author Report Posted May 8, 2023 Identified as shoushin-mono (genuine item), most likely this Koshirae-kanagu assembled during the Baku-matsu (ending period of the Tokugawa Era / 1624 - 1867) in the 1850's or 1860's. Quote
ROKUJURO Posted May 8, 2023 Report Posted May 8, 2023 Andrew, re: your TSUBA: five round petal flowers look like UME no HANA to me, not KIKU. What do you think? 1 Quote
Izumi Posted May 8, 2023 Author Report Posted May 8, 2023 Agreed, but Sensei said Kiku. Admittedly, at first I thought it was incorrect. Quote
