Interesting idea, though the guy might have been better off shooting the pieces with a more consistent background,

grouping the tsuba so the changing themes flowed better and then maybe doing a "fade" between the images...

 

Oh, and get some better tsuba to image...

lol i knew hed get some poo poo on quality of the tsuba...once one works with good stuff they become a bit jaded. I still give him good show for a music and the thought of it. anyone else want to pick it apart? lol

No picking apart. I think it's a good beginning effort and incentive to those who think it could be done better to do so. And then let them receive a bit of picking apart. I do agree with afore suggested improvements, and would add to them some focusing in on minute details of design, changes of scale, etc. And perhaps further exploration of audio. But, to again emphasize, at least someone had the passion to do this in the first place. Kudos.

The tsuba he uses as an avatar belonged to me a few years ago. I think it is the 3rd one in on the show. He purchased it from a dealer and posted it here to the NMB. I corresponded with him briefly, but don't know if he is still around.

 

It was a nice slideshow w/ music. I found it calming during another hell day at work. Thank you.

 

Sure, his collection is a little uneven compared to the advanced aesthetic of some here, but he has a few nice ones in there. The one that formerly belonged to me was an S folded piece with the forging visible and the extremely dense tsuba rang beautifully like a bell. The blossom inlay seemed a later addition.

 

If circumstances were a bit different and I able to keep a larger collection, I wouldn't mind owning that one again. Nice to see an old friend.

Thanks Stephen, i liked the last Tsuba and i got sea sick on the Japanese Sword Exhibition Dai Token Ichi 2008 Youtube ride, some very nice swords i must say, wish i went to that show!
