This spectacular Owari wakizashi was forged by Ujshige. It came out of the collection of the most knowledgeable Western collector of Owari. It has a gorgeous jigane, thickly covered with ji-nie and lots of chikei. It has a very bright gunome hamon in ko-nie. Perfect polish in shirasaya with a bullhorn habaki.  It achieved Tokubetsu Hozon, but the papers were lost by a previous collector.

 

Mei: 長門守藤原氏重- Nagato (no) kami Fujiwara Ujishige

        尾州名護屋住 - Bishu Nagoya Ju (title and town)
