Mick taylor Posted April 19, 2023 Report Posted April 19, 2023 Ww2 Japanese officers sword. How many ww2 Japanese officers swords had a bo- hi in the blade. We’re they factory made swords or handmade in the traditional way?. Thanks. Quote
charlesf Posted May 10, 2023 Report Posted May 10, 2023 Mick, both types of blade, gendaito and Showa-to were made with bo-hi as well as older blades that were fitted out as shingunto. A word of caution, there are reproduction kyu-gunto being sold which have blades with bo-hi. charlesf Quote
sugarsnout Posted June 22, 2023 Report Posted June 22, 2023 Hi I've got a military sword, navy, tachi mounts. Blade a little dirty but no flaws, good health tip. Kanekado I think it is signed by. Had seldom seen stamp, facility where manufactured I was in Japan, my swordsman there said made 1931. Selling for what paid for it 20 yrs ago, 750. Can send pics to your email.
