Yves55 Posted April 19, 2023 Report Posted April 19, 2023 Here it is, as predicted in a prior topic 😃 Dimensions: 7,8O x 7,43 x 0,48 (septa-dai) / 0,46 (mimi). Weight: 97 grams Iron. All information is most welcome 👍🏻 Quote
Curran Posted April 20, 2023 Report Posted April 20, 2023 NBTHK attribution would probably be "Kodai-Higo" (later period Higo). The little tagane marks at the bottom imply Kamiyoshi work, which is a late Edo Period subschool of the Higo school. Take this to mean Kodai Higo, with an outside chance at a more specific sub school attribution to Kamiyoshi. My own opinion is just Kodai Higo. Quote
Matsunoki Posted April 20, 2023 Report Posted April 20, 2023 The indentation on each petal suggests cherry blossom rather than plum? Quote
rematron Posted April 20, 2023 Report Posted April 20, 2023 The sprigs with the buds right on the branch would indicate plum but since the flowers themselves are separated in the composition, perhaps the tsuba is showing plum, pine AND cherry? 1 Quote

Yves55 Posted April 20, 2023 Author Report Posted April 20, 2023 Thank you Colin and Jeremy! Any flower / fruit specialists? 👁 Quote
Matsunoki Posted April 20, 2023 Report Posted April 20, 2023 If you look even more carefully (than I did first time!) , the large sukashi flowers are Cherry…..indented petals …..but the smaller engraved ones have rounded petals without the indentations ie they are plum - and Jeremy is correct, plum blossom attach directly to the branch, cherry blossoms hang on a small stalk. So we do indeed have pine, plum and cherry. 2 Quote
