A newcomer here.

Does anyone still made swords in the traditional style, using traditional processes?

I will be purchasing some fine examples of old steel in the future but am curious as to whether there are still smiths who work in the old ways.

Many thanks,

John McFarlane

Hi John, Yes. There are many smiths in Japan making shin saku to using traditional methods. There are smiths sprinkled around the world that do so as well, some use modern techniques of forging and hardening also. There is a whole range of modern made swords available that are high quality swords and may be tomorrows treasures. Try the LINKS section above for some of the sites pertinent. Plus google 'shinsakuto'. John
