Bugyotsuji Posted April 10, 2023 Report Posted April 10, 2023 Doesn’t seem to make much sense, even upside down! 1 1 Quote

Brian Posted April 10, 2023 Report Posted April 10, 2023 It's a Chinese fake, little doubt. Sorry. 3 Quote

Expand Tony: The complex damascus pattern is very typical of Chinese made blades. The Japanese, for the most part, do not use that type of technique. It may very well be a nice blade. It just isn't likely that it is Japanese. John C. Quote
uwe Posted April 11, 2023 Report Posted April 11, 2023 Unfortunately (or fortunately…) a Chinese fake as stated above, Toni! Quote
Brian Posted April 11, 2023 Report Posted April 11, 2023 Very obviously a Chinese poor fake. Real Japanese swords look nothing like that, and the grain/hada certainly does not look like layers or damascus. They also NEVER get "dipped" Most of the fakes have that crazy pattern to them, even the cheapies. Check out the links near the header for the fakes page. Quote
