Will there be NTHK shinsa at this show?

I'll be there! Un fortunately no NTHK Shinsa this year - will probably be another four or five years before we are back in San Francisco.

The number of room nights we book at the hotel helps us secure the big ballroom - therefore we ask that everyone book rooms at the Marriott and request the "sword show" room rate - if we fill up the room block it means we get to keep the venue and there will be more prime rib and other perks for all of us. It may be cheaper around the corner or up the block but if you stay in another hotel you actually are taking away from the show itself - an event we want very much to continue into the future.

The Marriott passkey didn’t work for me, no rates were displayed, and I thought there was a group discount if you supplied a keyword.

Odd. When I go into it and select any of the dates of the show, next page shows select room (only 2 types available) and the rate of $199 per night.
From there it is easy. I guess calling them and doing in on the phone, mentioning it's for the show, will work too.

Darrel - if your stay starts before the official room block you may not see the rate - in that case it may be best to call - expect to get the show rate only on the days of the show - Wed to Sun - if for some reason you still have trouble contact Fred...

They allow the Monday night also at the show rates, I guess to give people a chance to wind up everything. So first show rate night is Wed the 2nd, and last night is Monday the 7th.

Because dinner during the show seems unlikely (show goes through till 10pm? ) I'm thinking if we are to have any communal dinner, it would need to be the evening before the show start, or the evening the show ends. But I know that will clash with many schedules. So I guess we'll have to have some sort of gathering at my table. We'll discuss more as we get closer.
