dimitri Posted April 2, 2023 Report Posted April 2, 2023 Hello everybody my name is dimitri, i am french. I have been collecting weapons for several years but Japanese weapons in general have always attracted me. The "Shogun" series when I was very young was the trigger. I had nice surprises like nice decptions when you turn to bad people. Well, it's life. here is my collection. 6 Quote
rematron Posted April 2, 2023 Report Posted April 2, 2023 Hi Dimitri. Welcome to NMB. The Shogun series was a trigger for me too. My parents let me stay up to watch it all week when I was 8 years old. That and early versions of Americanized Japanese animation like Battle of the Planets, Starblazers and Robotech set me up for a lifetime of appreciation for Japanese art. There’s always a specific attention to detail the Japanese strive for in all arts. Cheers. 1 Quote

Bugyotsuji Posted April 3, 2023 Report Posted April 3, 2023 How to open a Tanegashima. There should be a page here on the NMB but I cannot find it. A. Remove the ramrod. B. Lift the serpentine and lock into the upright position. C. Remove the mekugi pins from the stock. If they are original mekugi, tap them on the left, and pull them out from the right side of the gun. D. Stand the gun upright and push the barrel out of the stock with the heel of your hand. Tap gently with a rubber mallet if the barrel does not separate or move at first. E. If there are any Kanji near the large Bisen breech screw, take photos with the Bisen facing you and the barrel pointing away. (Expect to find something like: 二重巻張 and 摂州住榎並屋甚兵衛作) NB Many are unsigned. Reverse the process when finished. Good luck! 2 1 Quote
dimitri Posted April 3, 2023 Author Report Posted April 3, 2023 yes it is more complex than my other, on my second, they are like mekugi, like brass tenons. that's why I didn't go there to disassemble it but I take note. I show you the barrel of the other Teppo as well as my last two Tsuba too, I also don't know if I have the wooden mask bought in Miyajima 13 years ago, I had fun transporting it to in Tokyo. Quote
