Guest nickn Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 i have just bought a wakizashi with a strange wrap on the tsuka one side has an extra piece going over the menuki any idea why? Quote
Brian Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 Resolution dropped and re-uploaded to bring filesize down. (under 100 dpi really is fine for pics) Nothing unusual here. The right hand section has moved and slipped, and should be positioned as it is on the far left. Brian Quote
Hermes Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 I have the same wrap on a Wak and the same thing happens with mine, i was thinking of using a little glue to stop it from moving, but i fear using too much glue and making a mess out of it. Quote
remzy Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 I guess you could put a little gelatinous rice glue or resin glue on the place where the ito string is supposed to go, place the string correctly where its supposed to be and wrap the tsuka tightly a couple of turn with some cotton cloth to keep a gentle pressure on it while it dry, this shouldnt damage the ito as long as you dont use chemical glue, it should be fine. Of course theres always someone who will tell you to leave it alone, so, use your own judgment. Quote
