I don't see him listed with exactly that mei, but either unlisted koto smith or perhaps the individual below.

MASAMORI (政守), Tenbun (天文, 1532-1555), Yamato – “Nanto-jū Kanabō Sahyōe no Jō Masamori” (南都住金房左兵衛尉政守), Kanabō

Not really, no. Value is based on many things including condition, importance of the smith, quality of workmanship, etc. Simply being old does not equate to high value.

I could use some advice.  What is the best way to sell a sword when I don't know anything about it except the tang markings and that it is in a WW2 mount ?

I would need to maximize the price but don't even know where to start ?

Can an old sword be shipped from Canada to USA or Europe ?

Another web site suggested Taira No Masamori    ;  problem is there isn't such a registered maker.  Could this be a fake name ?

I am by no means an expert, however I can tell you that Taira is a rank, like Assistant Lord, and the "no" is spoken but not written, so you won't see the kanji for it on the blade.
