Coxswainup Posted February 28, 2023 Report Posted February 28, 2023 Found this in my grandmother's attic. Can anyone help me with identification? There are no marks anywhere on the blade. Thank you for your time. Quote
kissakai Posted February 28, 2023 Report Posted February 28, 2023 It's amazing how you found this invisible blade. Sorry just couldn't resist saying this 3 Quote
kissakai Posted February 28, 2023 Report Posted February 28, 2023 Sword cane. I look forward to seeing some of the comments Quote
John C Posted March 1, 2023 Report Posted March 1, 2023 A sword cane. But the "hamon" does not look authentic to me. Could be a reproduction. John C. Quote
Rivkin Posted March 2, 2023 Report Posted March 2, 2023 I would be a bit pessimistic here. Strictly periodic wide gunome which looks bright and glassy is something one sees a lot on mass produced showa sabers. The nakago forging looks sloppy. I would guess its not too old (first half of the 20th century?) and not too well made, but I would still believe its Japanese and true to period. Quote
