My first impression :

廣平作 - Hirohira saku

I personally don't know this smith and i might be wrong. Let's wait for the professionals.

Best regards

Thanks for the help. I thought it was a long shot.  It is covered in a lot of grease, should I take this off ?could make it more legible. Obviously without changing the patina. I assume none of the sig is cut off/missing

Naminohira yuki___

Please do not do anything further to clean the nakago or try to improve visibility. The nakago condition was fine before, but now appears that the patina has been damaged.

Just took some oil off it, no patina damage, it's mainly the lighting

As this point, I'm pretty sure it's a Naminohira sword. Naminohira Yuki ___. The blade is suriage and there's one kanji missing. Katana-mei. If the mei is authentic, then perhaps a Muromachi period blade.
