kissakai Posted February 20, 2023 Report Posted February 20, 2023 I assume these are just Japanese tweezers. They are 100mm long Nice inlay and with an arrow shape Any more I need to know? In the first image there is a dimple on the l/h side which didn't look accidental and on the opposite what looks like a punched recess. Maybe nothing 1 1 Quote
Nobody Posted February 20, 2023 Report Posted February 20, 2023 It was made in the shape of a folding fan. 1 1 Quote
kissakai Posted February 21, 2023 Author Report Posted February 21, 2023 Silly me, of course its fan shaped Anyone seen these before? Quote
Fuuten Posted February 25, 2023 Report Posted February 25, 2023 Hi Grev, These actually remind me of a pair of plastic, oversized tweezers intended for kids (as opposed of the tiny metal kind that often have sharp edges and corners). Could they be in above c shape as a sort of child variant as well, with the extra wide pads (so a kid doesn't accidentally puncture their eardrum or something like that)? Quote
kissakai Posted February 26, 2023 Author Report Posted February 26, 2023 I did wonder that being Japanese if they had a specific purpose Quote
Dave R Posted February 26, 2023 Report Posted February 26, 2023 Possibly for handling charcoal or hot coals? 1 Quote
rematron Posted February 26, 2023 Report Posted February 26, 2023 Are they this? I just googled “what are big Japanese tweezers for”… 1 Quote
Brian Posted February 26, 2023 Report Posted February 26, 2023 Could literally be for anything. There must have been 100 uses for them. Nice piece whatever they are. Quote
