b.hennick Posted February 17, 2023 Report Posted February 17, 2023 I'm away from my usual resources. I would appreciate your help. I think that the smith is Masamitsu and the date starts with Ten Quote
Bencld Posted February 18, 2023 Report Posted February 18, 2023 I’ll have a go. Hatakeyama yamato ? Masa mitsu. the date is tensho 1573 - 1592 Chris. 2 Quote
Nobody Posted February 18, 2023 Report Posted February 18, 2023 The mei looks 畠山和介正光. It lacks 大. I suspect that the correct mei must be 畠山大和介正光 (or 畠山大和介源正光) – Hatakeyama Yamato no suke Masamitsu. He worked in Mid 1800’s. 1 1 Quote
mecox Posted February 18, 2023 Report Posted February 18, 2023 Thank you Moriyama san, I concluded the same about the mei, but can not relate the tosho and the date. Date looks to be Tensho roku nen hachi gatsu hi 天正六年八月日 1578 August, or am I way off? 1 Quote
mecox Posted February 18, 2023 Report Posted February 18, 2023 I wondered about this and missing "大" plus mei looked poorly cut. Thank you. 1 Quote
