Need quick help!

This one has a lot of us stamped. So much to translate it is hard to figure out what it is actually saying.

安永二巳年 I think this is the year 1773.

運者有天　善長者戟.

春日造.

I bought the sword today regardless of the signature.

But the meaning is lost on me, and nothing comes up in a search. Two four-word idioms, perhaps expressing some truism of man?

王子三狐　No idea of the meaning.

藤原釼加黄金　Fujiwara ōgon wo tsurugi ni kuwaeru (Fujiwara added gold to this sword)?

東都囗囗  宗次　正囗　Location in Tōkyō, Munetsugu, and another name Masa-

 

Unusual in that some characters are written in block type, while others are in grass script. Unsure who the maker is. Collaboration between Munetsugu and Masa-?

Mike Yamasaki was thinking the same thing. A collaboration between two smiths but could not figure out the remainder.

It is a Classical Chinese covered to Japanese meaning:

For those with fate would be awarded by gods 

For those talented worriers would prevail in battles.

28”+ katana with masame hada that almost become ayasugi in spots and LOTS of sunagashi, tobayaki, inazuma, kinsuji, etc.

The characters 春日造 could possibly be referring to a style of Shintō Shrine.

One possible Chinese meaning of 運者有天　善長者戰 is "the lucky ones are good at fighting with the elders."

春日 (haruhi?) is a part of date inscription in this case.

安永二巳年、春日造 - Made in An'ei 2nd Mi year (1773), a spring day.

Wow, I think you nailed it down.  The date was continued over into the adjacent column and thus the full reading is 安永二巳年春日造 as you indicated.

You guys are 110% awesome! Got home last night just before midnight. Unpacked all 4 matchlocks, all the swords and inspected my new katana closely. I knew it was long, but actually put a measure to it. 29.250" (74.3 cm) She's a healthy girl.

One last piece to this puzzle. The kanji that looks like MICHI 道 but is different. The parts on the left look the same but the parts on the inside are different. To me Michi looks like a person pushing a pallet jack with a stack of pallets and a see-saw on top. The character that is giving me trouble is the person pushing the pallet jack, but has a stick figure wearing a dress. Like Mori 林 is two sticks wearing dresses, but I only need one wearing a dress, riding on the pallet jack.

?                       次 = Tsugu

Yes, although bear in mind its just a slightly educated guess at the 正継 .

Etchū would be an unlikely thing to write after Tōto, and it feels slightly off. 龍 in grass script is very plausible, but the one after that leaves me in the dark again, as does the 王子三狐（抓）written next to it.

that is HAYASHI if I remember correctly. MORI is 'three trees'.

I agree. Etchu has nothing to do with Toto. It was the only thing that looked somewhat the same.
