Microfiber cloths.

I see a lot of people use microfiber cloth for cleaning. Do you use the smooth cloth or the ones with a some texture, more like a bath towel?

How often do you guys wash your micro fiber towels and is there any special way to clean?  Best to just rinse in sink and not put in dryer?

 

Drew that same micro fiber towel that Micheal linked to was also suggested to me by another user and that's a great price for them.  I literally just bought four of them because of the price.

Have four Microdear cloths. They will be used twice (refolded) for viewing and inspecting, but only once each for cleaning-removing oil purposes before being washed and dried separately (from other laundry) with Arm and Hammer free of perfumes and dyes laundry detergent and no dryer sheets. Have had no issues.

Whether using Microdear cloths, or unscented kleenex, it's not a good idea to wipe a second time or back and forth with the same material.

The last pic reminds me of the scene in David Bowie's Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence when the sword was being purified prior to an execution.

Description of the second pic:

 

Ohatsu (お初), faithful servant of the young court lady Onoe (尾上), cleans her sword with the zori (草履) sandal with which lady Iwafuji (岩藤) had beaten her beloved mistress. Onoe, in fact, unable to bear the humiliation suffered, took her own life and when Ohatsu learned of the suicide, through the letter testament that here she holds between the lips, decided to avenge the young lady by killing the despotic Iwafuji. Following the revenge, Ohatsu was rewarded for her loyalty and received as a reward the name and position at court of her mistress Onoe.

I buy my microfiber cloths in bulk.  Use them once and throw them away.

Well, I don't actually throw them away, I wash them and then use it for my glasses.

But if I clean a sword with one then I don't use that one again on a sword.  Just me being over cautious with my swords.
