Hey Damon, I have one of those bottle openers - not much use now in an age of screwcaps.   They make Kirin with bottle caps!  images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQMxMFlNxmtq6uxRUvoU0Bp6mD_I6olHfOGIZQxtDpcfuHeOuFp

Kirin is one of my favorite Japanese beers, along with Yebisu. 🍻

kettle with a typical Kinai tsuba design incorporated.

Well we could definitely call it a cast tsuba - by Kettle makers!  [Now what thread was that on?

I do like the fact they did both the omote and ura views of the tsuba - well we know they had the molds!

made from a single menuki?

image.thumb.png.e9c915ef582e13f5614dee8e9834454c.png  These are the usual single 'pairs', one set has the same turtle/ tortoise design.

From their size compared to the human hand, even the double menuki would be an extremely small Obidome - Fiddly to put on I would imagine.

another repurpose of Tosogu.

Clever, attractive and at the time useful - I can only hope the original string used was something better and I wonder what they used for an ojime and netsuke?

Well, I found this on instagram, and if the owner wishes me to remove the photos, I will; however, I thought it was an important bit of info as it has answered a question I have had for a long time, being.... what is the condition on the back of a Tsuba used as decoration??? It is unfortunate that the box is in that state (I have a strange affection to boxes), but, it is great that the Tsuba is pretty ok.
