Any good locations to get a Shin Gunto in person?

Asking because I don't trust online dealers and only know about there being gun shows and pawn shops.

Hey Gendai, if you refer to the sword shows and events page you’ll see national shows and the for sale/trade section here is great. Trust me, I have tried pawn shop hopping/antique shopping in the upper half of my state and a little into the next state over. No luck. You’re looking for a literal needle in a haystack with this stuff. Your best bet is online, you’ll just have to educate yourself on fakes.

where are you located? i go to some small military shows that are not well advertised and there are usually swords there

you could come to the Las Vegas Sword show in a couple of weeks

plenty of swords there

I will have an Army shin-gunto (Type 98) and a Navy kai-gunto (Type-97) in Vegas for you @Gunto to see. Will also have a Army Kyu-gunto and a Navy Kyu-gunto as well. These pre-dated the type 94/98 shin-gunto. Would be happy to show you each.

Can't really go to this event due to reasons, I will probably hold off until another event comes up.

Definitely go to the San Francisco sword show in August, and if you spring for a flight and hotel—the Chicago sword show.  Can be as many as 100 shin gunto at each show.
