Hey all, I have discovered 2 separate Japanese police patrolman/sergeant swords. These seem kind of rare to me and these two are not having much traction on fleebay with one sitting at 450 and the other 6. My question is, are these blades (pictures below) machined or traditionally made. The patrolman/sergeant  type is the only model intended for service thus, machined/handmade blades were utilized. I however, am struggling to see the difference as Dawson only provided a single example and both of these appear to be variations of that example.

They look both not good Noah. You need to see the nakago to say anything. Both are out of polish. No sharp shinogi line, no yokote - nothing.

Ask for pictures of the naked blade without koshirae.

Noah:

I think the one blade with the blue background is from Hennadiy2006, correct? The blue background is kind of his trademark, just like Komonjo's wood floor. He has one for sale for 650 at the moment. I know he takes a long time to sell things because he is generally very overpriced. Not saying he is a bad seller or that the sword isn't legit, just think you could find something cheaper.

I think in this case the handle needs to be unscrewed from the back, so he probably doesn't want to damage the handle and is reluctant.
