Appears to be a shinogi zukuri wakizashi, not a tanto. 

 

Not a good idea to rest the tsuba against the fuchi. 

 

Best not to handle the shakudo finished habaki without gloves on as it will pick up finger prints quite easily.

Will pass on handling tips  and look up  'shakudo finish' myself.
