Nik-to Posted December 14, 2022 Report Posted December 14, 2022 Dear members, I would ask your support. I’m looking at the following gunto swords, what do you think? 1. Cod. 305 KATANA GUNTO DELLA MARINA MILITARE 2. Cod . 303 KATANA GUNTO MILITARE FIRMATA SADAMITZU; 3. Cod . 304 KATANA GUNTO MILITARE DI SCUOLA MINO SEKI It’d be my first gunto, so I’d really appreciate a lot your opinion about them. Here is the link: https://www.czernys.com/asta-127/?c=9 Best regards, Nicola 2 Quote
vajo Posted December 14, 2022 Report Posted December 14, 2022 Looks nice Nicola. Could you load up bigger pictures? Quote
Brian Posted December 14, 2022 Report Posted December 14, 2022 There is some really nice stuff there. But just my personal opinion and experience....Czerny's stuff always goes waaaaay too high. They have a LOT of eyes. Don't overspend. There are always decent deals here on the forum. Quote
DTM72 Posted December 14, 2022 Report Posted December 14, 2022 I agree with Brian, the starting price on all three is reasonable. I would think that with the other offerings being of good to excellent quality, these 3 swords will end up double or triple the starting bid price. Wishing you the best. Quote
Matsunoki Posted December 14, 2022 Report Posted December 14, 2022 Brian is right. Czernys have excellent things which attract very seriously rich buyers which means nothing goes cheaply. Quite the opposite. Then you add on the buyers commission plus tax which can easily add another 30% and you end up wondering why you just did that…….I’ve wondered many times! Easy to get carried away. Safest way is to buy direct from a known and trusted contact….friend, dealer, collector etc where you might be able to inspect the sword before buying and often have a period where you can change your mind and return it. Good luck whatever you decide to do. 2 Quote
Nik-to Posted December 14, 2022 Author Report Posted December 14, 2022 Thanks guys for the valuable advice. I'll see to follow the auction..... if reasonable ok, otherwise I'll leave you. I attach the other pictures. I was looking at the auction just to avoid customs clearance and duties....... Quote
