I'm selling a sword where they took surplus ww2 blades and added postwar fittings to sell to U.S. servicemen right after ww2. The blade is from the toyokawa naval arsenal and bares their anchor symbol on the tang. They added post war fittings to this blade to sell the completed sword to US servicemen. The blade, scabbard and everything is in fantastic condition. I had no idea what it was until I read info from Bruce Pennington (ty again) and while they may not be worth as much as the swords offers carried to display rank they are still a toyokawa ww2 blade with post war fittings.

It's in fantastic condition and come with the embroidered brown bag they were sold in originally. The orange tassels are from the sword bag.

I did an auction on ebay and it closed at $775 including shipping but ebay neglected to tell me I wouldn't get paid for 3 weeks since I have a newer account and some issues came up and I couldn't wait that long. I would like to use a mediator on this site to do the sale or trade. We agree on a price or trade and I send them the sword and you send them what we agree on. This trusted mediator inspects the sword to make sure its as advertised then sends you the sword and me the payment. I'm willing to pay this mediator for their trouble. I do not know anyone here but I would trust lots of the tong time members here to mediate. The buyer could choose like 3 upstanding honorable members and I'd pick 1 of the 3 or something like that. I just want it to be fair where neither of us have to worry.

As far as trades go I am interested in magic the gathering cards, certain gift cards, watches, some jewelry, sneakers, ps4 or 5 and games, certain knives, nano reef aquariums and other stuff. I would need half trade and half cash probably.

I'm valuing the sword at $700 (even though ebay closed at $750 I wouldn't have received that after fees. If straight cash is offered I'd probably go as low as $550 depending on what a mediator here would charge.

Is that how transactions are done here? Via mediator? I'd a long time honorable member here is the buyer I probably wouldn't have a problem simply mailing first.

This swords twin is $1,250 currently.

I can send more pictures to interested parties.

I offered this seller more that his asking minimum and never heard a word back.. all sounds a little fishy. Just my two cents. Good luck to the seller and any buyer. MikeR

If you couldn’t wait 3 weeks for eBay how does using a mediator not end up taking longer? And your going to trust someone unknown with both your sword and money?
