Ray Singer Posted October 27, 2022 Report Posted October 27, 2022 Believe this is Kusaka Sanpei Masayoshi (kao). - 日下三平正吉 (花押) 1 Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted October 28, 2022 Report Posted October 28, 2022 Paul, Could we get a photo of the nakago with the kao? I don't have a Masayoshi on file. Quote
zilul Posted October 28, 2022 Author Report Posted October 28, 2022 Ray, thanks for the response it is most helpful, I wonder if I can impose on your goodwill a little further and ask what it means in the context of the mei Quote
zilul Posted October 28, 2022 Author Report Posted October 28, 2022 Bruce, as requested, struggling a little to find out anything abut this character so if you have anything it would be helpful. Paul Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted October 28, 2022 Report Posted October 28, 2022 Thanks Paul! I have @Markus' book on Tameshigiri, but don't see him in there (wish there was an index!) I see a page or 2 about a Masayoshi on Markus website - Signature Supplements of Satsum Masayoshi - but don't know if that's the same guy. Can we get some help with the rest of the cut test mei, guys? Is there a date? I tried, but don't see anything I recognize. Quote
