Cutting test translation

Hi,can anyone help with the translation of the highlighted kanji in this cutting test, I believe the  inscription starts with ichi no do kiri otoshi  x x x masa yoshi x x   any help would be appreciated

Believe this is Kusaka Sanpei Masayoshi (kao). - 日下三平正吉 (花押)

Could we get a photo of the nakago with the kao?  I don't have a Masayoshi on file.

      thanks for the response it is most helpful, I wonder if I can impose on your goodwill a little further and ask what it means in the context of the mei

Thanks Paul!  I have @Markus' book on Tameshigiri, but don't see him in there (wish there was an index!)  I see a page or 2 about a Masayoshi on Markus website - Signature Supplements of Satsum Masayoshi - but don't know if that's the same guy.

 

Can we get some help with the rest of the cut test mei, guys?  Is there a date?  I tried, but don't see anything I recognize.
