Hi all, 1st post to say hello. I’ll be haunting in the background for a while while I catch up on all the posts I find interesting but will certainly contribute soon.

I’ve been interested in Japanese swords for over 35 yrs and got as far as visiting some specialists fairs / seminars all those years ago but sadly didn’t commit to buying ( regrettably).

all these years latter Covid gave me the opportunity to revisit my interest and after much research I’ve picked up a number of notable books even joined a very well known British organisation in order to learn more. My goal is to reach a level of being able to asses a sword myself in order to buy.

Hi Lee. Welcome. I’m a fellow uk resident and also belong to a “well known uk organisation”. This forum really is superb. There are many experienced and knowledgeable members who, in my experience, are happy to help and guide us. Don’t be afraid to jump in. Enjoy. Best. Colin

Thank you Michael, yes I’ll certainly post once the time comes, I probably shouldn’t mention I did in fact buy a modern replica after much research and finding they are made to much better standards than they used to be, I figured it would fill a gap until such time I do find a genuine item.
