Mystery tanto…info please

Hello all, I picked this up recently and although it’s not in great condition it is strange for sure. It’s 7mm thick and Nagasa is exactly 12”. 
 Any info to help with leads for information would be great.

Ok thanks. I’m not sure what else I could post for pics. Do you mind letting me know what would help better? I appreciate any of the help as I always have.

 I picked it up as it was being sadly left neglected but more because I don’t really have a classification for it’s shape. I mean a tanto size but maybe a broken reshape?? Has yasurimei so cared for I believe.

Nakago says katana. Hi makes no sense as is. Not sure what this is or was.

Some clues on nakago, looks like someone re-shaped an older damaged sword maybe

From these pictures it looks like a real katana nakago welded to a fake blade..I might be wrong though need to see clear pictures..why did you even buy it?
