Alienasa Posted September 9, 2022 Report Posted September 9, 2022 Hello everyone. I once again require your help. Someone is offering this sword in western Europe. What model is this sword and does it appear real? Many parts to me appear real however the handle lacks a certain patina to my untrained eye. The asking price is €2500 which is probably high for what it is, however we have to keep in mind in Europe the prices are higher compared to the states anyways due to relative rarity on the market. I'm sure the price can be haggled anyways. Thank you! Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted September 10, 2022 Report Posted September 10, 2022 Technical points: @Alienasa - please edit your personal profile to add a real first name. I doubt your first name is "B." But I could be wrong!!! @Brian - can you split this post off to make a new thread, as it is not a Type 95 NCO sword? What you are looking at is a Japanese officer sword, commonly called a 'Type 3' or 'Rinji seishiki' or 'contingency model' . It's legit. You might ask for photos of the signature on the tang, it could tell you more about the blade. Welcome to NMB, and sorry for the technical corrections! We like to talk to real people here! 1 Quote
Alienasa Posted September 10, 2022 Author Report Posted September 10, 2022 @Bruce Pennington Thank you very much for your information and your greetings. In the future I will post my questions regarding other types of swords in a separate post. Regarding my name, that is my initial. For the sake of privacy I reserve my right not to display my real name on any online forums but I can assure you I am a real person with a real name and I have no malicious intent on this website. I hope that statement is satisfactory. Quote
Brian Posted September 10, 2022 Report Posted September 10, 2022 Hi, We require at least a first name. That shouldn't cause any privacy issues. Just easier and more polite than calling you B First name keeps you anonymous unless you have a very rare and distinctive name 1 Quote
