pcfarrar Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 A friend of mine has this short katana signed Iwami no Kami... It is a nice sword with a big billowing choji midare hamon and lots of activity. We think it must be Iwami no Kami Kunisuke, the tip of the last kanji on the nakago certainly looks to be Kuni. I've compared the nakago to Kunisuke oshigata in my books and I think its gimei. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks, Peter Quote
Grey Doffin Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 Hi Peter, Other than shodai & nidai Kunisuke, Kunifusa and Nobuyori signed "Iwami no Kami" and made it into one of the references in my index. Nobuyori wouldn't match with the top of the last Kanji, but you might want to check Kunifusa. Grey Quote
pcfarrar Posted May 16, 2009 Author Report Posted May 16, 2009 Thanks Grey. Doesn't match Kunifusa either Quote
Brian Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 Think you have covered them all, but for those who don't know this link, it can be very useful in cases like these: http://www.sho-shin.com/titles.htm Brian Quote
