A friend of mine has this short katana signed Iwami no Kami... It is a nice sword with a big billowing choji midare hamon and lots of activity.

We think it must be Iwami no Kami Kunisuke, the tip of the last kanji on the nakago certainly looks to be Kuni.

I've compared the nakago to Kunisuke oshigata in my books and I think its gimei. Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks,

Peter

Hi Peter,

Other than shodai & nidai Kunisuke, Kunifusa and Nobuyori signed "Iwami no Kami" and made it into one of the references in my index. Nobuyori wouldn't match with the top of the last Kanji, but you might want to check Kunifusa.
