Can't find "Morning Dew", but there is an archived image for an Aoe sword called "Dew on the Grass" (below)

Early To - Ken GB members may recall a mention a long time ago (1975/6) at a meet in London that a blade called Sasa no Tsuyu was once owned by Field Marshall Sir Francis Festing (Frontline Frankie).

I have a Kofu School sword, with the same name and NBTHK Hozon paper.

I'm led to believe this was popular to put on swords in the early Muromachi Period.

I remember studying in hand that Dew on Grass sword when Darcy had it. A mighty chu/sue Aoe blade and quite the weapon….

I liked it quite a bit at the time.

That is very interesting sword, unfortunately I could not purchase it as it was above my level.

 

Nagasa: 72,1 cm

Sori: 1,7 cm

Motohaba 3,3 cm

Sakihaba 3,0 cm

Nakago: 18,9 cm

I believe it should be “kusa no tsuyu”, no?

Thanks for the dimensions of the Dew on Grass Sword.

 

As for the Hoke Kaneyasu it was snagged up. Congrats to its new owner.

 

I'm wondering if the blade dimensions that are available would be enough to make a modern copy.

Yes absolutely, please use the dimensions and begin asking for a replica to be made. When you have completed your quest please let us know how incredible it is, but only after you've been successful.
