Odd addition to Tsuka

Recommended Posts

The caption says the soldier has kept something from an unnamed staff officer who "died with honor" on the front line at Akyab (Myanmar, close to the Indian border), and has wrapped it around his own tsuka. Maybe a tooth or teeth? That's what it looks like, anyway. Probably kept it as a talisman or good luck charm.

(The names of both soldiers have been censored.)
