as it states that his field mounted blade, this is his higher mounts, if you're close to West Point, go in and ask them to place it on its mune.

Its amazing most "westerners" still have no idea or even CARE about taking care of Japanese swords. It's still a joke or something... :doubt: "Oh look what we found! A pretty sword how cool.. lets coat it with motor oil and put it in the basement for 50 years.." or "hey remember that sword I brought back from Japan? I'm going to go chop the tree down with it!"

There is no image of the blade or nakago. The seller probably thinks it irrevelant.

Appears this sword is being marketed solely as a high end WW2 personality item.

It would be nice to have more info as it is known Yamashita had a blade by the

gendai smith Sadayoshi. This smith also made a katana for Admiral Yamamoto.

There was a search by a group in Japan some years ago for these swords so that

they might by displayed together. I believe Clive Sinclaire of Britain's TO-KEN society

was involved in this. Since the Yamashita sword at West Point is a seventeenth century

blade it is then possible the gunto offered here is the Sadayoshi.

Another issue is that signifiacant Japanese military swords were stolen from the

General Macarthur library in Virginia some years back. If I were a buyer I would want

rock solid provenance since this sword is associated with Macarthur.

see page 2-3 then zoom in with mouse, boshi has no turn back,(is so its very small at end) so i think its a older blade. No answer to emails for nakago.
