Fritz Posted April 26, 2009 Author Report Posted April 26, 2009 OK, I think this posting has gone off topic here, this is not the info I'm looking for here, first off I'm not an ameture dealer, I'm just trying to help a friend with a sword HE bought and thats it nothing more nothing less like I've said before, I'm going to let him know EXACTLY what I have found here. so I'm going to consider this a done topic, thanks for the good info and I'll let him know what he has, which basically is an older blade with a questionable signature that he should take to a larger show to get a better feel for what he bought. Thanks! Fritz Quote

What I called "Meiji boys" were the (mostly) western foreigners, who invaded Japan during later 19th century and didn't have a clue. Some of them traded "masterpieces" for "glass beads". At least, that's what they told their customers in the west. This kind of business is still going on, BTW. reinhard Thanks for the info Reinhard, Regards Quote

Fritz Posted April 27, 2009 Author Report Posted April 27, 2009 OK, I took this a little over the edge, we're good here. My friend says thanks, i delivered the sword back to him tonight, he's a bit bummed but I think he's ok with it, he'll bring it to a larger show and show it around and get a firm idea. Thanks for the help guys!!! Fritz Quote
