MichaelZWilliamson Posted June 24, 2022 Report Posted June 24, 2022 Same estate as the swords we sold has a bunch of woodblock prints, especially Hiroshige. We need to ID and valuate them, and sell them, relatively soon. This is one set of 48 in 24 binders, 2 per. Approximately 15x12 Quote
MichaelZWilliamson Posted June 24, 2022 Author Report Posted June 24, 2022 They all have a folder, description, and onionskin liner. Quote

MichaelZWilliamson Posted June 24, 2022 Author Report Posted June 24, 2022 Thanks. I'm trying to determine when this set of prints was made, and what the entire set is worth. I'll upload some pics to my site to share. Quote
SteveM Posted June 24, 2022 Report Posted June 24, 2022 Here is the second one https://museumcollection.tokyo/en/works/6249389/ Its hard to value these without knowing more about them and viewing them. As woodblock prints, they are, by nature, produced in volume. They look like recently reproduced prints, so their value is more sentimental than collectible. But as a set, it may be interesting to a collector, especially if it is in good condition. 2 Quote
SteveM Posted June 24, 2022 Report Posted June 24, 2022 OK - Yahoo Auction in Japan has the same set, and it looks like the complete set sold for 223,000 yen in May (2022). https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e1051112815 2 Quote

SteveM Posted June 24, 2022 Report Posted June 24, 2022 No need to do that Michael, I don't think your set would be valued any differently than the one I linked to above. Quote
MichaelZWilliamson Posted June 24, 2022 Author Report Posted June 24, 2022 This will be an entirely different set. There are literally hundreds of pieces in the estate, from 1850s to recent. The antiques are obvious. The newer ones vary. Quote
MichaelZWilliamson Posted June 24, 2022 Author Report Posted June 24, 2022 That was very helpful for that package, thank you very much. I'll have more and some vintage books to follow. 1 Quote
