A big if indeed, although the person selling it is a military paraphernalia collector, and has no knowledge of Japanese swords whatsoever. In your opinion, Mr. Doffin, what era would you say this sword is most likely from?

Can't say anything definitive based on those pictures but to me it would be worth 750$'s. In the current market you cannot get a lot for 750, so I think this is a very decent find.
