drbvac Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 This sword has been reduced to $165,000.00 US. Must be the recession Quote
Stephen Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 you must mean this one,,,hey its Tokubetsu Juyo, what do ya want for nothing? http://www.aoi-art.com/sword/sale/08636.html Quote
Markus Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Regardless the price or if its a "bargain" or not, it is interesting that it got Tokubetsu-Juyo papers for the blade AND the koshirae as a set. Quote
Pete Klein Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 When I see examples such as this I always think of how much a Ferrari, AMG Mercedes, a yacht or other high priced item costs and then see this as a relative bargain. It's 700 years old after all and a masterpiece with earlier TBJ papers. It's all relative -- as in boys and their toys. And I am not one of those boys! ROFL!!! Quote
drbvac Posted April 17, 2009 Author Report Posted April 17, 2009 Don't get me wrong - it is probably a bargain and I was just commenting that it was reduced about 30 grand! The Koshirae is absolutely gorgeous and so is the blade! Will be many more " bargains" around and hopefully I won't have to sell my house to take advantage of some of them. All dealers seem to have more than usual the number of blades for sale and the prices are lower than they have been in the not so distant past! Quote
