Question:

Are they 'mould' lines on the edges of the Tsuba, or am I seeing things? Or are they common in Gunto?

And, the Kissaki looks really iffy to me. The Shinogi seems to ride up really far, and unless this has been ground in I am sus about this.

It's a pretty poorly done fake, nonetheless.

Thanks,

-Brett

You guys better be sure when you make a definite "fake' call...

Oneday you are going to get an out of polish Shin Gunto with over cleaned brass parts, and are going to make the mistake of being over confident. Caution is one thing, but outright and definite claims of fake are best kept for when there is no doubt.

Just saying....

Yeah, time to stick my two bob's worth in (Aussie saying) - DEFINITELY FAKE. Dreadful piece of work. Patina is all wrong etc etc etc.

Wasn't an opinion on this sword in particular...just a friendly caution for those inclinded to call fake. 99% of the time we are right, but then it is me who gets the nasty legal threats if we are wrong

All I am saying is be certain if you are making a definite call.
