Brian Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Don't know when to leave things alone Henk-Jan? No, it is not a valid assumption, and no-one here has claimed it is. Brian Quote
kusunokimasahige Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 This is not about leaving things alone Brian, it is a question on attesting swords since I am trying to discern how the system actually works with NihonTo. Since there is Gimei, and also flawed attribuations by the Hon'Ami family et cetera, and since there are the NBTHK board and others who issue papers, I am trying to inventory the several thoughts on attesting swords to smiths through the ages for an article i am working on. I need to reach a thorough conlcusion so i have to ask questions which in your eyes might be awkward, but they certainly are not invalid. Henk-Jan Quote
Guido Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 ... since I am trying to discern how the system actually works with NihonTo.The system is so easy it's almost laughable - you devote your live to scientific research and art appreciation until your peers agree that you actually know what you're talking about. However, I recommend the following method if you want to achieve the same results without spending too much time studying (it's called "applied sciences"): Quote
Jacques Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Hi, Personally i regard a cutting test higher than any attribution Are you so naive that you believe they cannot be false? Quote
