opinion on a cuirass

Cuirass acquired some time ago, I plan to restore it. the fabric of the Kusazuri is dusting, but the rest is in good condition. the interior is made of thick gold leather. sold as momoyama era. Do you have any thoughts on the time or quality?

Hard to tell from the pictures you provided, Max. From what I can see, I would put it in the Edo period…maybe earlier stage?!

Quite a nice looking Dou, I agree with Uwe, id say early-mid Edo period, we will need better photos to give more details.

The box is not with the cuirass.
I know the restoration costs for the nihonto blade but not for an armor, do you have any idea of the prices for a good restoration?

Apologies re the box. I think there may be an extra stroke covered over by the kusazuri. Although not with the cuirass, it’s probably 毛利 Mōri.
