Greetings sword friends!

Here is an update pertaining to the DTI for 2022! (Subject to change depending upon circumstances)

The All Japan Commercial Sword Dealer's Association is planning on holding the Dai Token Ichi on Friday November 18th, Saturday November 19th, and Sunday November 20th. The pre-DTI sword study session that I manage will be held on Wednesday evening, November 16th. Depending upon how things look in autumn regarding entry issues to Japan and the number of overseas visitors, then I might set up another Yakatabune party event as we need a little celebration in our lives! Usually I arrange the Yakatabune Party on Friday night after the first day of DTI mania....

Updates will be posted on my Keichodo Fine Samurai Art Facebook group and I will also post details on NMB for the general membership.

Thanks very much for the information.  I am presently working on my flights from HK now that our Qtine is getting a bit more reasonable.  Are there plans for the cruise yet?

I think everyone on this forum that has the chance to attend should post a picture of themselves holding that Sadamune!!

Has to be a selfie.

I cannot make it this year; I hope next year I can attend. It will be my first DTI. Looking at the catalog the tachi signed Yoshifusa looks genuinely nice.

Wonder how the DTI is going? I think the first day must be over and done with?

Edit: Just found a short video showing the DTI (in Japanese). Gives a decent look at what the DTI is like, for those who have never been.

I’ll try to do a video tomorrow. The one I did today didn’t work as well as I wanted to. If you’re trying to get something at DTI recommend reaching out to to Robert Hughes.  He has a booth, and most likely knows any of the dealers that you are wanting to purchase the sword from.

Steve, DTI was good to me. I heard a lot of people complain about the prices (and it was suggested they were adjusted to accommodate the inflated American dollar). I mostly looked at fittings, and there were certainly less lower priced items than in 2019, but I managed to get a couple of bargains after a bit of bartering.
